Holes by Louis Sacher

Holes by Louis Sacher is 233 pages long. It is about a kid named Stanley Yelnats that supposedly stole something and got sent to a juvenile camp were they are forced to dig holes under the jagged sun. They are in a danger though, because of the yellow spotted lizards. Stanley meets a kid named Zero that actually stole the thing that Stanley supposedly stole. At the end of the book Stanley and Zero find a huge treasure that said Yelnets on it!

The main conflict is character vs character. Stanley and the camp leader do not get along. The camp leader just wants the treasure. He knows about the treasure. He thinks" how better than a bunch of juveniles to find the treasure", because they can't get out of the camp with out knowing that they have the treasure.
Comeback Kid by Mike Lupica is 166 pages long. It's a story about a kid named Billy and his brother Ben. Billy loves to play basketball aloung side his best friend Lenny. Ben is a skilled piano player. There is a kid named Zeke every body calls him "Zeke the Geek." Zeke hangs out with two twins called the"Ratner Twins" they are his partners in crime. Zeke is always trying to hurt Ben's hand so he can't play the piano. Billy hurts Zeke in school and gets suspended and misses a basketball game. Billys dad is his basketball couch. His mom and dad are divorsed. She has to go to Boston for a lawey's meating, and hires Peg to.

The main conflict is charahter vs self because Billy is always missing stuff and keeping stuff a secret. Billy is a good brother to Ben. Billy missed 3 quarters of his championship game. He goes to Ben's piano recital instead of going to his game. After Ben finished his part in the recital Billy, Peg, and Ben rushed to the game and they were down four points. There was 5 seconds left, it was a tie game and Billy had an open shot he took it and made it.

Boy of the Painted Cave

Boy of the Painted Cave is a story about Tao and his clan. Tao is a kid that has a bad foot, and that stops him from hunting with his clan. Tao's mother was killed when he was a kid. Kala raised him by herself and she took good care of him. The clan's leader is Volt, who turns out to be Tao's father in the end of the book.

Ram is Tao's dog . Tao risked his life at camp by guiding Ram through the camp and escaping. Ram returned the favor by distracting the woolly mammoth long enough for Tao to get up and away. Ram also saved Volt by scaring away the " walking mountains." Tao and Ram are really meant to be together.
