Darkness Over Denmark

Darkness Over Denmark by Ellen Levine is 162 pages long. This is a really sad book. It's about some Jewish family's that live during the Holocaust, and some of the challenges they faced rebeling from Hitler and the Nazi's. All of the families mentioned in the book do at least one thing that was brave to survive. They all did something brave. One family risked their own life by hiding Jews overnight in there basement, so they would not get killed. Another family made guns for the Jews to rebel with. That was really brave of them to do that, because they would have been killed for helping the Jews. I would recomend this book to someone of a mature age that can stand with what the Nazi's and Hitler did.

At the end of the book Stanley and Zero find a huge treasure that said Yelnets on it!

The main conflict is character vs character. Stanley and the camp leader do not get along. The camp leader just wants the treasure. He knows about the treasure. He goes to Ben's piano recital instead of going to his game. After Ben finished his part in the recital Billy, Peg, and Ben rushed to the game and they were down four points. There was 5 seconds left, it was a tie game and Billy had an open shot he took it and made it.

Boy of the Painted Cave

Boy of the Painted Cave is a story about Tao and his clan. Tao is a kid that has a bad foot, and that stops him from hunting with his clan. Tao's mother was killed when he was a kid. Kala raised him by herself and she took good care of him. The clan's leader is Volt, who turns out to be Tao's father in the end of the book.

Ram is Tao's dog . Tao risked his life at camp by guiding Ram through the camp and escaping. Ram returned the favor by distracting the woolly mammoth long enough for Tao to get up and away. Ram also saved Volt by scaring away the " walking mountains." Tao and Ram are really meant to be together.
